Sea Urchin Mandala Stone

Calming blues and pops of orange join together on this mandala stone to create a bright eye-catching sea urchin pattern. Sea urchins are also known as the porcupine of the sea and they have a beautiful symmetric pattern that was fun to recreate on this stone. Starting at a central dot and working outwards, the dots advance in size and it can take several days of peaceful painting to complete this design.

Materials

All my Mandala Stones are created by hand in my studio including the stone itself which is casted using quick set cement in silicone molds of various shapes and sizes. The Mandala Stone is then painted ny hand using multi surface acrylic paints with brushwork and dotting tools. A high gloss Liquidtex varnish is applied to seal the stone and protect the artwork. A felt pad is attached to the bottom of the stone to prevent any scratches to your furniture.
